The lake where the owner’s family lives prohibits gas motors, so they converted a vintage 1957 Johnson Javelin outboard motor to electric using a highly-efficient, 42 HP AC motor. The principal design goals were to completely hide the electric conversion and to demonstrate that any boat can be seamlessly converted to 100% Electric.
LittleDebbie will run continuously for an hour at 18mph, has a top speed of 26mph, and can go 25 miles at 8 mph. Charging is done at 120 or 240volts and is usually accomplished overnight; faster charging is selectable when needed.
